| 1 | cup | liquid from beans | |||
| 2 | tablespoons | prepared mustard | |||
| 2 | tablespoons | ketchup | |||
| 1 | teaspoon | salt | |||

| 1 | tablespoon | Liquid Smoke (more to taste) | |||

Soak beans over night. Drain; add water and bring beans to a boil;
simmer for approximately 1 hour or until beans begin to soften. Drain,
retaining 1 cup of liquid. Mix brown sugar, molasses, mustard,
ketchup, and retained liquid. Add to beans. Add onion, salt,
pepper, and liquid smoke to taste.
Cover tightly and bake for 5 hours at 275 degrees. Add more liquid as needed. |
